The Human Frontier Science Programme (HFSP) celebrated its 35th anniversary on May 13, 2024 at the City Hall of Strasbourg in the presence of Pavel Kabat, CEO of HFSP; Claire Giry, director general for research and innovation at the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR); Irène Weiss, vice-president of the higher education, research and innovation commission of the Grand Est Region; Jeanne Barseghian, mayor of Strasbourg; as well as consuls from Japan and the United States.
The partners of the 2024-2026 Three-Year Contract continue to support this internationally-renowned organisation to the tune of €7.4 million (www.hfsp.org), thereby helping to enhance Strasbourg’s standing as a centre of research and innovation.
Headquartered in Strasbourg, HFSP was launched at Japan’s behest on the sidelines of the G7. The initiative aims to provide financial backing for globally-recognised research in the life sciences in the form of grants and post-doctoral opportunities.
