For its 13th edition, the World Forum for Democracy focused on the topic ‘Democracy at risk: how can we revive it?’ and provided an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on the dangers facing liberal democracies and how to respond.
This event was organised by the Council of Europe in partnership with the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Grand Est Region, the European Collectivity of Alsace and the City of Strasbourg in the framework of the Three-years Strasbourg European Capital contract.
Since 2012, the World Forum for Democracy has brought together policy-makers and activists from around the world at the Council of Europe to discuss the major challenges facing democracies. As a unique laboratory of ideas and innovations, this event is above all a forum for exchange of views and ideas that encourages reflection on concrete solutions on how to preserve our models of society.
