Thanks to the financial support of the Three-year Strasbourg European Capital 2024-2026 contract, the Operando transmission electron microscope has been integrated into the new European electron microscopy platform for the study of nanomaterials at the Strasbourg Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials (IPCMS), a CNRS and University of Strasbourg laboratory located on the CNRS campus in Cronenbourg.
The Operando transmission electron microscopy is an essential tool for exploring next-generation materials. It uses an electron beam to observe matter at the atomic scale, allowing its evolution to be tracked in real time. The acquisition of this new microscope offers spatial and temporal resolutions that are unprecedented in France. This equipment will enable a deeper understanding of the systems studied at the IPCMS. Opening this platform to European and international partners strengthens the scientific leadership, competitiveness and attractiveness of the Strasbourg site.
